`No Robert Englund, No humor to the freddy character.
Not to have Robert is a tragedy, he has made this wize cracking character iconic but to also make Freddy a straight man! Are they out of the minds? The dark humor is what makes the series brilliant with out it freddy just drops back into just another night stalker, if all you want to do is kill people in their sleep why not mess with dreamscape instead?

`In the original Freddy was more menacing and scary, the character lost that and started cracking out the jokes in the following sequels. I can see the producers points of view of making him scary again, although I doubt they'll take out the dark humor and add one or two lines in the script. I'm sure they'll offer Englund a cameo in the movie, I know it's not what fans want but rarely do we get anything in life.
