Overlone, 64

John Carpenter's THE THING When in school, one is required to read, which can remove an element of enjoyment or appreciation of the written work. My schooling is now the past, and I am looking for interesting writing and film.
Here the term "interesting" refers more to my own ability to become immersed in a story...a story that ultimately frightens or shocks me more than my own s---ty, lonely life does; works that rise beyond the obvious fact that I am viewing or reading and provoke further thought and thus participation on my part. The best encourage my return to the page, or other medium, as I look forward to an ultimate conclusion or suggestion of same. It is only then that my mind is left stranded to decode images and present them for thoughtful consideration. A work that lingers past it's "consumption", leaving traces of "what if..." or "RUN!" behind. The however twisted brainchildren of others have proven much more desirable to me, at this point in my life, than say any historic overview, verbatim statement of matter of fact, or collection of happily and freshly-scented flowers or similar non-cathartic verse.
Oh yeah, and I'd like to find a female with whom I share these passions.
